The PEI Photography Club is for all ages and experience levels and designed to be a fun place to learn and grow with other local photographers. Please join us at our next meeting.
Our monthly meetings take place on the 4th Tuesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located behind the KFC at the intersections of The Charlottetown Bypass and St. Peters Road (map). In addition to the monthly meetings, the club regularly organizes group events, workshops and field trips to encourage everyone to get out and shoot.

Presenter: Heather Ogg is a Prince Edward Island commercial photographer specializing in portrait, lifestyle and food photography.
Heather is in the fields with our farmers, on the boats with our fishers, in the processing plants, in development kitchens, the markets, the restaurants, and at home in the kitchen. Food has a journey involving many hard-working and super talented people and she wants to tell the whole story.
Heather has a skilled and sensitive eye and is always looking for a strong image that easily captures a moment or a mood. She especially loves developing a narrative within a shoot, creating authentic photos that will connect with the audience and trigger an emotional response. Her distinctive style enables her to deliver creative, beautifully lit images. Heather has a wide ranging portfolio of work and can shoot a variety of styles and genres. She has the ability to understand client objectives and the experience to exceed expectations

2018 PEI PHOTO CLUB EXHIBITION
The purpose of this show is to encourage maximum club participation in a public print exhibition.
The print exhibition will run at the Guild for a minimum of a week likely starting between the end of May and beginning of June 2018. The Exhibition dates will only be known in the early months of 2018 once the Guild makes it known to the Club.
Submission Preparation: Participants will submit electronic submissions approximately one month in advance of the exhibit date for review. The images will be reviewed to ensure adherence to the submission rules and appropriate content/categories. Once the review and approval process is finalized (estimated within a week) the participates will be notified via email. Arrangements will be made for the print submissions to be received for the exhibit.
Format: The 2018 PEI Photo Exhibit will consist of four categories in which participant can submit up to two per category. Prints will be unmounted. Every effort will be made not to damage any of the prints in the mounting and dismounting of the exhibition, however we cannot guarantee the protection of the prints.
The PEI Photo Club will dedicate time to support participants in image submissions with tasks including; image selections image editing, print preparation, and advice prior to the submission of images for exhibit.

2017 Photo Show
PEI Photo Club Annual Print Show Opened on June 7th.
Everyone was invited to attend the grand opening and awards ceremony for the PEI Photo Club Annual Print Show on June 7 at 7 pm at the Gallery@ The Guild.
There was a total of 120 images by fifteen different photographers on display this year in the following categories: Breaking the (Photographic) Rules; Human Emotion; Colour: Black White and Red; Technology; Photo Journalism; Macro; Nature; and Photographer’s Choice, as well as a special category called O Canada in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday.
It is always amazing to see how different photographers in the club interpret the different categories. The result is an impressive collection of fascinating images that are sure to delight. Everyone is invited to visit the show and to vote for your favourite photo. The show was open until June 18 during regular gallery hours.

Prizes were awarded for the best images in each of the nine categories as well as for the best in show. The PEI Photo Club would like to thank all of the sponsors, including PEI Photo Lab, City of Charlottetown, Maritime Electric, HopYard, Vessey Studio, the Provincial Credit Union—Stratford Branch, and Parks Canada (PEI), who have generously donated prizes.
We would also like to thank all of the volunteers who help make this show possible. Special thanks to the judges for this year’s show–Anna Karpinski, Berni Wood and Rick Dunphy–who have done an excellent job of lending their expertise to choose the best images and provide constructive comments on how members can improve their work.
